GUATEMALA

WE RECEIVED A ‘LAST MINUTE’ APPOINTMENT FOR OFF HIRE BUNKER SURVEY IN SANTO TOMAS DE CASTILLA PORT, GUATEMALA, FOR OFF HIRE BUNKER SURVEY.

WE PROMPTLY ENGAGED OUR SURVEYOR WHO PROCEEDED TO THE VESSEL A FEW HOURS PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION OF DISCHARGING OPERATION, AND CAREFULLY SOUNDED ALL TANKS, CHECKED TEMPERATURES AND DENSITIES AS PER BDNs.

ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT A SUPER BUNKER FINDING, THE RESULT WAS COST EFFECTIVE, PROVIDING A GOOD RECOVERY ON THE REDELIVERY TO OUR CLIENT, THE CHARTERER:

VLSFO: 55.775 MT / HSFO: 623.142 MT / LSMGO: 226.868 MT – SEATECH FIGURES.
VLSFO: 52.890 MT / HSFO: 620.540 MT / LSMGO: 226.560 MT – LOG BOOK FIGURES.

VIETNAM

WE ALSO GUARANTEE EXCELLENCE IN VIETNAM.

LAST WEEK WE ATTENDED AT CAM PHA ANCHORAGE [VIETNAM] FOR ON HIRE BUNKER + CONDITION SURVEY.

DESPITE THE NIGHT TIME CONDITION SURVEY, THE PHOTOS WERE IN GREAT QUALITY, BEING THE VESSEL’S CONDITION VERY WELL DEPICTED [HOLDS, HULL, DECK, CRANES, GRABS, HATCH COVERS, ETC].

THE BUNKER SURVEY WAS ALSO VERY WELL DONE, VESSEL HAD +6.172MT OF VLSFO AND +2.819MT OF LSMGO, BUT WE MANAGED TO CERTIFY SLIGHTLY LESS THAN DECLARED IN THE ENGINE LOG BOOK -1.030MT OF LSMGO AND -0.089 MT OF LSMGO.

THE GOOD RESULT ON THE OFF HIRE BUNKER SURVEY IS BUILT ON THE ON HIRE BUNKER SURVEY.

VERY IMPORTANT TO HIRE SURVEYORS THAT UNDERSTAND THE CLIENT’S POSITION IN THE CHARTER PARTY AND FIGHT FOR THE CORRECT RESULT.

EXCELLENT ON HIRE BUNKER + CONDITION SURVEY -> ALL PRE-EXISTING DAMAGES WELL DEPICTED ALONG NUMEROUS PHOTOS & BUNKERS MINIMIZED, IN ORDER TO HAVE GOOD FINDINGS ON THE OFF HIRE BUNKER SURVEY.

 


 

BREAK BULK

WE ARE PERFORMING DISCHARGING SURVEY OF BREAK BULKS EVERY DAY.

OUR SURVEYORS INSPECT THE BREAK BULKS BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE DISCHARGING OPERATION, IN ORDER TO CHECK FOR PRE-EXISTING DAMAGE AND SUPERVISE FULL TIME THE DISCHARGING, IN ORDER TO VERIFY IF ANY DAMAGE WAS CAUSED TO THE CARGOES.

CURIOSITY:

-IN MANAUS, THE BREAK BULK IS DISCHARGED FROM THE VESSEL DIRECTLY ONTO A TRUCK TRAILER ON A BARGE.

-ONCE THE BREAK BULK IS DISCHARGED ONTO THE TRUCK TRAILER, LASHING IS APPLIED AND BARGE LEAVES TO A SHORE FACILITY, WHERE THE TRUCK TRAILER DISEMBARKS WITH THE BREAK BULK AND PROCEED TO THE RECEIVER’S PLANT.
