ALL HOLDS WERE INTERNALLY INSPECTED BEFORE COMMENEMENT OF THE LOADING OPERATION, AS WELL AS THE DECK, CRANES AND HULL.
PIG IRON IS LIABLE TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HOLDS’ STRUCTURES [SPECIALLY IF LOADING IS HELD BY MEANS OF SHIP LOADER].
CURIOSITY:
-IN RIO DE JANEIRO, THE LOADING OF PIG IRON STARTS AT THE PORT AND IT IS COMPLETED AT THE INNER ANCHORAGE, DUE TO DRAFT RESTRICTION.
-THE VESSEL STARTS LOADING AT PORT, THEN THE LOADING IS STOPPED, THE VESSEL UNBERTHS AND ANCHOR AT THE INNER ANCHORAGE, LOCATED IN GUANABARA BAY.
-THE LOADING IS RESUMED EMPLOYING BARGES, THAT BRINGS THE BALANCE CARGO TO BE LOADED TO ALONGSIDE THE VESSEL.
-THIS IS CAUSED DUE TO DRAFT RESTRICTION OF RIO DE JANEIRO PORT.

AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE ABOVE PHOTO, THERE IS A NICE FERRIS WHEEL LOCATED ABREAST RIO DE JANEIRO PORT. IF YOU ARE IN RIO, WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND RIDING THIS FERRIS WHEEL, AS IT PROVIDES A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE PORT, BAY AND RIO/NITEROI BRIDGE.
