As stated in the IMSBC Code, when a concentrate or other cargo, which may liquefy (Group A), is to be loaded, some actions must be taken care, such as:
- Shippers must issue a certificate of TML (Transportable Moisture Limit) recognized by the Competent Authority.
- Shippers must issue a certificate of MC (Moisture Content) of the cargo loaded, under the correct sampling methods. The MC shall be kept less than the TML during loading operation / voyage.
- Bilges wells shall be clean, dry and protected as appropriate to prevent ingress of cargo.
By checking the stockpiles, inspection the cargo holds before shipment, accompanying the shippers’ collecting samples method and laboratories analysis, performing continuous can tests on board and full time loading monitoring, we act as advisors, ensuring cargo satisfactory condition.
Seatech Marine and Cargo Surveys keeps an experienced surveyor on board during the shipment in order to prompt attend and assist the vessel’s command if something unusual happens.
We are in the opinion that our presence on board makes total difference to assure the loading is taken care under the international safety standards.
